When We Ignore Christ

There have been many instances where I felt God’s conviction to change in an area of my life, but instead of changing my ways I made excuses and disobeyed Christ. “I tried but I can’t help myself,” or “I prayed so much but I’m still struggling,” were my common excuses. I didn’t usually see consequences right away, but the time always came when I surely paid the price. Has Christ been convicting you about a weakness or sin in your life? You can choose to ignore it now, but there will be a consequence to face later. I learned the hard way that just because God seems quiet does not mean He isn’t paying attention anymore! He did not change His mind about what He told you!
If you have tried and failed to change in an a certain area of your life, continue bringing your weakness/sin to Christ by praying and fasting until you see change.
“Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” (Proverbs 19:20 NIV)

Staying Close To Jesus

I can recall times that I sought after Christ desperately, then after getting some breakthrough I became relaxed in my spiritual life (I.e not praying, disobeying God, & etc). In time I went right back to the same struggles I had prayed and fasted to break free from.

I learned the hard way that seeking Jesus is not seasonal! Anytime we weaken spiritually, we become more likely to follow after the desires of our flesh. If we want to be spiritually stable and walk in the power of God, we have to be consistent in praying, fasting, and studying the Bible.

Do you struggle with consistency in your walk with Jesus? Pray daily for strength to seek God diligently and obey Him.

“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!” ‭‭(1 Chronicles‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Only Christ Fulfills

For many years I tried to find fulfillment from being in a relationship. When that didn’t work, I tried finding fulfillment in my career. I never had peace living that way because my joy went up and down depending on how those areas in my life were going. God taught me when we find our fulfillment or meaning in a relationship, career, sport, degree or etc rather than Jesus, that idol we made for ourselves will eventually leave us feeling empty.
Have you been searching for fulfillment outside of God? Pray for Jesus to fill your heart with His love and help you be satisfied in Him.

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.” (Isaiah‬ ‭55:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)
